the birds of my house
my hdb flat in bukit panjang is not only my home,
but a home to some birds as well.
they live right outside my parents' room,
at the air-conditioner unit.
and darn they make a lot of noise.
PLUS, they just gave birth to babies.
so on this sunny saturday morning,
my mom couldn't stand the noise nor the SMELL anymore,
she instigated my dad to tidy up the nest.
BOY, did the birds make even more noise.
they thought my dad was going to destroy their babies when he brought the nest in.
so they decided to make a big hoo-hah and get ALL the other birds in the neighbourhood to mourne for their babies.
my dad didn't even KILL them for goodness sake!
(though i initially thought that's what they were going to do,
luckily my parents are humane.)
but those stupid birds made it sound like the end of the world.
screeching and flying all around the place.
i thought they might just fly in and attack us.
then.
after my dad fixed and tidy up the place,
they didn't go and look for the baby but they made a ton lot of noise.
so much for my dad's help.
those ungrateful birds.
but i guess it was kinda funny.
especially when my mom thought one baby fell out and died,
she went downstairs to see if there were any.
man, it was funny to see my parents worrying over the little bird.
i guess it's cause they're parents too,
and they know best how it feels if their kids (aka me and my sister) were to go missing.
or worse, attacked by some giants.
haha.
yesterday was dearest xinyi's birthday.
it was nice to see that weirong, baby and hongru were trying very hard to make fun of her for once.
but i feel bad for not being able to go and celebrate with her.
darn, why must mr ong choose yesterday out of all other days to speak to us.
but any-who.

one more week to the mid-years.
